Continuum of Care from Wearables to Non-Invasive Neuromodulation

Course Description: Spanning a range of neuro-psychiatric indications, this workshop includes theoretical and hands-on practical training on the use of non-invasive neuromodulation. Techniques covered including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS), and transcutaneous Spinal Direct Cord Stimulation (tsDCS).  Lectures will address mechanisms of non-invasive brain stimulation techniques, common applications, and how non-invasive approach and invasive brain stimulation are complimentary in the continuum pf patient care and clinical research. The workshop will also cover emerging applications of wearables in medicine.

Target Audience: Provides a broad introduction to types of brain technology and emerging applications relevant to physicians at all levels, scientists, clinical trials regulatory specialists, and engineers.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this this educational activity, participants should be able to:
1. Describe the mechanisms and technology of tDCS including common indications, and methods of application.
2. Identify the mechanisms and technology of TMS including common indications, and methods of application.
3. Explain the mechanisms and technology of tsDCS including common indications, and methods of application.
4. Discuss uses of medical wearables.
