ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP |
Active Membership is open to those with advanced degrees in medicine or an area of science relevant to neuromodulation, including MD, DO, PhD, PharmD, or EngScD. Active members may serve on committees and in leadership roles, including the Board of Directors, and receive all NANS membership discounts and benefits, including membership in the International Neuromodulation Society and online access and a print subscription to Neuromodulation: Technology at the Neural Interface. Physicians must join as Active members, unless they are employed by industry or are in training.

Early Career membership is available to those with advanced degrees in medicine or an area of science relevant to neuromodulation, including MD, DO, PhD, PharmD, or EngScD, and are within three years of completing their training. Early Career members enjoy all the benefits of Active membership at a subsidized rate. Early Career members may serve on committees, in leadership roles, receive all NANS membership discounts and benefits, including membership in the International Neuromodulation Society and online access and print subscription to Neuromodulation: Technology at the Neural Interface. Early Career membership is not available to those employed by industry.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP |
Associate Membership is intended for healthcare professionals who treat patients in a clinical practice setting or academic institution, practice managers, and researchers at an academic institution or equivalent who are not employed in a clinical practice setting. Physicians are not eligible to join in this category. Members in this category receive NANS member benefits and discounts, including membership in the International Neuromodulation Society. Associate members are encouraged to volunteer to serve on NANS committees.

TRAINEE MEMBERSHIP |
Trainee Membership is open to individuals enrolled in training program that awards doctoral degrees or provides postdoctoral training. Members may serve on committees and in leadership roles for select committees and receive member discounts and benefits, including access to Neuromodulation: Technology at the Neural Interface and membership in the International Neuromodulation Society. Trainee members are also eligible for special programs that provide educational and financial support to participate in NANS programming. (Learn more about these opportunities.) Please note that Trainee members must submit proof of status with their application to be approved for membership.

INDUSTRY MEMBERSHIP |
Industry Membership is open to employees who are directly involved in clinical and technical activities, education, research, engineering, and/or corporate leadership, and whose careers demonstrate a commitment to neuromodulation. For the purpose of society membership, industry is broadly defined as organizations or companies that do not provide direct patient care and/or companies that manufacture and sell device, pharmaceutical, or other products. Regardless of job function or degree, industry employees will not be approved for any membership category other than Industry member. Industry members have the same benefits and privileges as other members, but are ineligible to hold office or serve on committees and task forces.
