About the Conference

Neural Interfaces is where scientists, engineers, clinicians, venture capital, industry, and government develop solutions to unlock the true promise of neural interfaces to impact health. The conference aims to combine community-inspired meeting sessions with active discussion to address critical questions to move the field forward.

First hosted in 1970 as the “NIH Neural Prosthesis Workshop,” the Neural Interfaces Conference has grown over the decades to become the leading meeting to explore and to advance neural-interface technology and therapies. The North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS) hosted the 2016 and 2021 meetings, and will be hosting Neural Interfaces 2025, with plans to continue in 2027 and beyond.

Key Meeting Characteristics

  • Candid and Critical: Promoting robust discussion and respectful debate
  • Interactive:  Engaging attendees through Q&A and open discussion
  • Trainee-Inclusive: Encouraging trainees to participate in discussion and poster sessions
  • Solution-Focused:  Developing practical, real-world solutions to unsolved problems
  • Broad Participation: Strong encouragement of Academic (Engineers/Scientists), Clinician, Industry, and Agency (NIH, FDA, CMS) participation
