NANS joins national societies and state medical associations in urging Congress to prioritize and advance key bills and legislative proposals that provide greater financial stability to Medicare physicians and reform the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA). The letter urges leadership to act on bills or future legislation, which reforms MACRA in four key areas:
The recently released Calendar Year 2025 proposed Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) rule cuts Medicare physician payments by 2.8%, a decrease for the fifth straight year. To further compound the problem, these cuts align with increasing costs to practice. We will continue to monitor this situation and keep you abreast of our advocacy efforts.
