Call for Abstracts

The North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS) invites scientists, engineers, clinicians, patient advocates, ethicists, and industry leaders of all levels to submit an abstract for Neural Interfaces 2025.

The educational program for the Neural Interfaces meeting will include the presentation of scientific data as Oral Presentations and Paper Poster Presentations. Abstract submissions will go through a blind review process by the Neural Interfaces Steering Committee and scored on scientific merit, originality, relevance to neural interface and neuromodulation technologies. Although scientific data is important, the quality of the abstract is the primary determinant for acceptance.

Topics

Potential topic areas for the Neural Interfaces 2025 conference span a wide range of exciting advancements, from clinical applications to cutting-edge research in neuromodulation and neural interfaces, including: 

• Brain-Computer Interfaces
• Clinical Neuromodulation in Pain Management
• Clinical Neuromodulation for Movement Disorders 
• Functional Electrical Stimulation and Neuromodulation in Rehabilitation 
• Machine Learning and Computational Models in Neural Interfaces
• Advanced Imaging and Neural Recording Techniques

Presentation Formats

Submitters may indicate their preferred presentation format, but the assigned format is at the discretion of the Steering Committee.

Formats include the following:

• Oral Presentation: Select abstracts will be chosen for a 7–10-minute podium presentation as part of a conference session. Presenters will be expected to develop presentation slides reviewing the rationale, key methods, main results, conclusions, and comment on their findings. Oral abstracts will be highlighted in the Neural Interfaces 2025 conference program.
• Paper Poster: Authors will have the opportunity to hang their printed posters in the designated poster area onsite and will be expected to speak to their research and answer attendee questions during one of the interactive poster receptions.

Submission Instructions
Deadline: Thursday, February 6, 2025

1. Review the information and criteria outlined in the Submission Guidelines document prior to submitting your abstract.
2. Respond to the Call for Abstracts Submission Form no later than February 6, 2025​.

Abstracts must be submitted via the online system and cannot be emailed. Incomplete or late submissions will not be considered.

Meeting Registration & Travel

The Presenting Author of Oral and Paper Poster Presentations must register to attend Neural Interfaces 2025 by May 1, 2025 for any accepted abstract to remain in the program. If the Presenting Author does not register for the meeting, then all abstracts by the Presenting Author will be declined. 

Presenting Authors for all accepted abstracts are responsible for all expenses associated with attending the Annual Meeting, including:

• Meeting registration
• Travel
• Housing
• Paper Poster printing fees (if applicable)

Selection Process

Abstract acceptance and presentation format is determined by the Neural Interfaces Conference Steering Committee who oversees the selection of the scientific program, including conference sessions and abstract posters. 

• Call for abstracts opens Thursday, December 19, 2024
• Deadline for abstract submissions Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM CST
• Submissions reviewed in from February to early March 2025
• Acceptance decisions sent to Abstract Organizer and Presenting Author mid-March 2025
