The North American Neuromodulation Society is saddened to share the passing of Dr. Richard Rauck, MD, FIPP, who served on the NANS Board of Directors from 2015–2017.

Dr. Rauck was an internationally recognized anesthesiologist and pain medicine specialist whose work significantly advanced evidence-based care for chronic pain. He founded the Carolinas Pain Institute and played an integral role in clinical research, helping to broaden access to innovative therapies for neuropathic pain, migraines, and other chronic pain conditions.

He contributed extensively to professional education and held leadership positions in both national and international pain organizations, helping shape the progress of the field.
